Boeing Awards JHMCS Conract to VSI Nyomtatás E-mail

Boeing has awarded a contract to Vision Systems International ( VSI), to supply joint helmet mounted cueing system (JHMCS) for the US Navy and Air Force aircraft. Under the $32m contract, VSI will deliver JHMCS, including spares, technical support and ground support equipment to Boeing in support of the foreign military sales ( FMS) to Finland, Australia, Belgium, Canada and Switzerland.

An USAF F-15E Strike Eagle has crashed on May 3, 2012, 11:40 a.m. local time while conducting a routine training mission in Southwest Asia. Both crew members ejected safely. The jet belonged to the 366th "Gunfighters" Fighter Wing, Mountain Home AFB, Idaho.

Singapore Requests F-15SG Pilot Training and Support Nyomtatás E-mail

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress April 30 of a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Singapore of a possible sale of follow-on support and services for Singapore’s Continental United States (CONUS) detachment PEACE CARVIN V (F-15SG) based at Mountain Home Air Force Base ( AFB) for a five-year period. The estimated cost is $435 million.

BAE to support RSAF F-15S fighters upgrade programme Nyomtatás E-mail

BAE Systems has been awarded a $367m contract to support and upgrade the Royal Saudi Air Force's F-15S fighter jets with superior electronic capability. Under the contract, awarded through the US Foreign Military Sales route, BAE will deliver 70 Digital Electronic Warfare Systems ( DEWS)/Common Missile Warning Systems (CMWS) to upgrade the fighter jets.

366th Fighter Wing welcomes new commander Nyomtatás E-mail

The 366th Fighter Wing welcomed a new commander during a ceremony here April 20. Col. Chris Short assumed command of the 366th FW from Col. Ron Buckley in front of his family, friends and more than 500 members of the Gunfighter community who gathered inside Hangar 211. Buckley moves to Washington, D.C., where he will serve as the Chief of Air Force Senate Liaison. Short is the 53rd commander to take the helm, dating back to the Wing's inception in 1953.

AF axes solo A-10, F-15E, F-16 air show demos Nyomtatás E-mail

The Air Force says it is scaling back its participation in dozens of air shows this year in an effort to cut costs and ensure its combat pilots are getting the training hours they need in a time of shrinking budgets. The cutbacks won’t affect the service’s premier demonstration team, the Thunderbirds, but it will mean fewer fighter planes performing for scores of crowds around the country. Officials at Air Combat Command eliminated the solo performances of five of its crews based in Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Utah.

Fellow Gunfighters, I wanted to let you know how extremely proud I am of the 366th Fighter Wing. It has been an unbelievable honor and privilege to be your wing commander for the past two years. The "Gunfighter 1" Call Sign is a very prestigious title. However, it isn't the "1" that makes the title special; it is the "Gunfighter" part that makes it extraordinary.

Airmen from the 4th Fighter Wing came together to honor their heritage by launching nearly 70 F-15E Strike Eagles in a Turkey Shoot training mission April 16. The nearly 70 Strike Eagles took off from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C. heading to bombing ranges across North Carolina to destroy more than 1,000 targets.

Airmen from the 4th Fighter Wing came together to honor their heritage by launching nearly 70 F-15E Strike Eagles in a Turkey Shoot training mission April 16.

The nearly 70 Strike Eagles taxied one after the next simultaneously down the base flightline before heading to bombing ranges across North Carolina to destroy more than 1,000 targets. The purpose of this mass launch was two-fold.
