Fighter aircraft from the 48th Fighter Wing began flying night training missions recently, and while night flying will halt for the month of October, it will resume in November and continue until early Spring. Flight ops are expected to complete no later than 10 p.m. each night.
The night flights provide RAF Lakenheath aircrew the opportunity to conduct essential training that could not otherwise be accomplished. This training is integral to ensuring the safety of American Airmen and the coalition forces troops they support at wartime locations around the world to include Afghanistan and Iraq. |
