The airshow (it was organized for the 9th time) displayed almost 100 airplanes from 21 countries and was visited by over 120.000 spectators during its two days. F-15E participation made it even more unique, since the last time Strike Eagles visited the Kecskemét Airshow was in 2000.
The Kecskemét Air and Military Show is one of the five biggest European air shows, the most exciting and visited air show in Central Europe. With their displays the participants not only commemorated 100 years of Hungarian military aviation and 100 years of Hungarian powered aviation and thus increased the prestige of the event, but the proud of the Italian Air Force, the world-famous Frecce Tricolori display team also celebrated their 50th anniversary, and they did it in Kecskemét.
Oddly enough the Strike Eagles wore 492nd "Madhatters" FS markings (tailcodes 91-0302 and 96-0202), however 494th "Panther" FS aircrew ferried them to Kecskemét, Hungary. The Strike Eagle were among the most visited jets on the static display, which is understandable, since F-15E's seldom come to Hungary.

Two F-15E Strike Eagle jets with aircrew participated in the bi-annual Kecskemét Airshow in Hungary on 7-8th August this year. The jets were put on static display for two days of time and aircrew were happy to answer questions from spectators and pose for photos as well.
