10/12/2011 - ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, United Kingdom -- Aircraft from the 48th Fighter Wing here will begin night-flying operations Oct. 11, 2011.
Aircrews flying the wing's F-15 Eagles and F-15E Strike Eagles are required to train for day and night operations during all weather conditions to remain proficient for operations worldwide. This training provides aircrews the opportunity to fly and maintain proficiency using night-vision equipment and procedures, which they could not do during daytime hours.
